Pride of Bangladesh Liyana is Google Doodle’s Michigan State Champion

Liyana Siddique, a Bangladeshi origin 4th Grade student of Michigan Islamic Academy (MIA) has been declared as the Michigan state champion of Google’s Doodle Program. Liyana’s artwork was chosen among thousands of applicants as the winner of the State of Michigan in the Doodle for Google 2019 contest. Her doodle’s topic is “First Person on Mars, First Woman on Mars”. Liyana’s artwork captures her dream of being the first Muslim woman and the first person on Mars in the future!

Through her amazing doodle, Liyana states,

When I grow up, I hope to be the first person on Mars because I want to learn about life on other planets.

The real competition begins now and Liyana’s amazing artwork needs tremendous support go win the main championship. If Liyana becomes the national champion her institution “Michigan Islamic Academy” will receive a $50,000 technology package. And, of course, she would also get her artwork displayed on for a day!

For Liyana to win the Doodle for Google contest on a national level, we all have to vote for her artwork. You have a voting window of 5 days, from June 3 at 12:00 pm EST to June 7 at 12:00 am EST.
Process of voting: Go to & then click “Grade 4-5” & then select “Michigan”.

Liyana Siddique is a girl of Bangladeshi origin. She is the youngest daughter of Engr. Zakir Siddique & Dr. Jariatul Karim. She has 3 siblings. She currently lives in the city of Ann Arbor in Michigan.
